To start another great excursion in Asia, we flew to Thailand. We all slept during the flight because we wanted to be full of energy to start the day. After a four hour flight we finally arrived in Thailand.
This country has a very beautiful
natural environment that is why I have chosen to go to southern Thailand. First
we go to Ko Phi Phi which is situated in the Krabi Province. The Island was
severely damaged by the Indian Ocean
tsunami of December 2004.
If you are up for a dive in the beautiful waters this
is the place to be. Thomas and I decided that this is a one in a lifetime opportunity and
drudged us in a diving suit. When I was in the water my world stopped spinning because I was in paradise. I had never seen something that beautiful, all
those colours and different species were breathtaking.
After our diving experience we took the ferry
with Phuket as destination . Surprisingly in this city you will always find
something to do.
The weather was really great so we decided to go to the Phang
Nga Bay first. The bay is the ideal place to visit when you are up for a
leisurely day trip. It is the right place for boating and admire nature greatest
limestone islands. During the trip you can anchor the boat and enjoy the silence . In addition the place is perfect to take beautiful pictures.
In the
evening we went to the Old Phuket town, it was a town with a lot of personality
and authenticity.
In the rich part of town we noticed there were a lot of
shrines and temples. We visited the local cafés and shops to buy some
souvenirs.
A real
specialty in Phuket is Por Pia, it is a fresh spring roll served with a sweet
brown sauce, stuffed with red pork or shrimps, crispy pork and lettuce. To tell
you the truth I did not really like it, as soon as I get home, the first thing I
want is a good Belgian meal !
